Representatives of the Pomeranian universities as members of the Council

Jarosław Gowin, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister for Economic Development, Labour and Technology, appointed the Council for the Plan for Labour and Economic Development on 14 May this year. The Council consists of the representatives of the Pomeranian higher education institutions, including the Fahrenheit Union of Universities in Gdańsk – Prof. Marcin Gruchała, the Rector of the Medical University of Gdańsk, and Sławomir Halbryt, the Chairman of the University Council of the Gdańsk University of Technology. 

The Council's responsibilities will include the identification and analysis of issues related to the performance of the Plan for Labour and Economic Development and the preparation of and giving opinions on the proposals for substantive, legal and organisational solutions. 32 persons received nominations for Council membership, including the representatives of the top Polish higher education institutions, the representatives of the scientific community, the Polish Academy of Sciences and research institutes.

Poland may be a dynamically and efficiently developing and citizen-friendly state only when its policy is based on knowledge and when the scientific and economic communities work closely together – emphasises Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin.

Anna Budzanowska, a former Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education (2019-2020) and Deputy Minister of Education and Science (2021) became the Chairwoman of the Council.
