On 1st October, in the heart of Gdańsk, with the sound of carillons playing Gaudeamus Igitur, several local universities will celebrate the start of a new 2022/2023 academic year. This is a special event in the country, emphasising the role of the academic community in the life of the city.

They will accompanied by Daniel Fahrenheit himself along with musicians and acrobats. The parade will be crowned with the reading of the Gdańsk Declaration of Science, in both Polish and English, at the Main Town Hall.
–The ‘Long live science!’ event will be unique on a national scale – declares prof. Marcin Gruchała, the President of the Fahrenheit Union of Universities, Rector of the Medical University of Gdańsk. – We wish to show that Gdańsk is a strong academic centre and the city of science.
