Fahrenheit Science Picnic 2023
When: 28 May 2023, 11:00-16:00
Where: Hevelianum, Gdańsk, 6 Gradowa Street
Admission free
Explorers, scientific adventurers, adults and children alike - all are invited to the Fahrenheit Science Picnic to take place on 28 May on the Gradowa Hill (Góra Gradowa) in Gdańsk. Among many attractions, shows and educational workshops, everyone will find something for themselves! The Fahrenheit Science Picnic will be held under the motto Science with Climate. Do visit us – admission is free!
Many of the attractions will refer to the Sustainable Development Goals, an action plan approved of by UN member states. All with the aim of collectively transforming and reshaping the world, where the needs of the present generation will be met in a sustainable way, respecting the environment and taking into account the needs of future generations.
Picnic areas will be set up in Hevelianum's main square, known as the Maidan.
The Fahrenheit Universities Science Village will feature over 45 tents with demonstrations, workshops and experiments in medicine, science and ecology. Visitors will be able to find out, for example, how to become an environmental campaigner, how to make a brain out of unnecessary things or what to do with used tyres. There will be demonstrations of recycling and of the world under the microscope, as well as an astronomical show. Visitors will be able to see how medicines are made and how to make flexible polyurethane foam in the colours of the rainbow. The village, as well as the other attractions, will be open to visitors during the picnic hours, i.e. from 11 am to 4 pm.
One of the focal points on the picnic map will be the Science Stage, where an uninterrupted series of attractions is planned. The Science Stage will be hosted by Aleksandra Stanisławska and Piotr Stanisławski, the authors of a blog on scientific topics for the general public called Crazy Nauka.
