Faced with the need to assist the war-affected inhabitants of Ukraine, on the initiative of Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, the Mayor of Gdańsk, an extraordinary meeting of local governments of the Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area (OMGGS) was held on 28 February this year. FarU as a supporting member of OMGGS participated in the talks. Fahrenheit Universities authorities were represented by Katarzyna Zygmunt, deputy director. The meeting was also attended by Mieczysław Struk, Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship, who discussed the topic of the employment of refugees from Ukraine in the Pomeranian region. During the meeting, a decision was made to create a database of job offers on the portal https://come2pomerania.com/.
– The portal will ultimately become a database of job offers of Pomeranian employers and a place where migrants will be able to find employment. Free of charge, bypassing the employment agency, at the target employer. Encourage employers to familiarize themselves with the portal and submit their offers there. This information will appear obligatorily in Poviat Labour Offices – explained Marshal Struk.
As a partner of the Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area, Fahrenheit Universities participate in the organization of short- and long-term activities to support refugees.
Moreover, the FarU member universities, on their own or in cooperation with other entities, organize several aid actions, about which they keep up to date on their websites:
