Fahrenheit Science Picnic

29 May (Sunday) from 11:00 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Fahrenheit Universities together with Hevelianum will organise the Fahrenheit Science Picnic in the city for the first time. The picnic will take place on the open grounds of Hevelianum in Gdańsk at 6 Gradowa Street. The event is open and admission is free. The exceptions are the permanent exhibitions on Hevelianum premises. A fee for visiting them will be charged as per the Hevelianum price list.

During the picnic, the academic community of the three universities: the Medical University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology and University of Gdańsk, along with Hevelianum and Partners, will invite participants to discover science together through fun. There will be plenty of science shows prepared by the academics as well as by undergraduate, graduate and PhD students of the three universities.

Daniel Fahrenheit is undoubtedly one of the most important and most famous scientists from Gdansk. His inventions include the mercury thermometer and a temperature scale. It is him who will be the patron of the science picnic. In the basket of picnic attractions in Hevelianum, we will find, for example, spectacular shows in physics, lectures on scientific topics for the general public, as well as sports games and musical performances. We will close the day watching a unique theatrical performance inspired by the figure of Daniel Fahrenheit. Welcome to Hevelianum!

We encourage all participants of the Fahrenheit Science Picnic to use public transport due to the closure of the car park on Góra Gradowa in Hevelianum.
