The delegation from Chungnam National University in South Korea met with the authorities of the Medical University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology, and the University of Gdańsk. The meeting focused on strengthening academic ties and also served as a platform to highlight the potential of the Fahrenheit Universities, including the three major academic campuses in Pomerania.
Talks started in the Senate Hall of the Atheneum Gedanense Novum and were preceded by individual presentations of each university, first of the host institution, by Prof. Michał Markuszewski, Rector of the MUG, then Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of the Gdańsk Tech, and Prof. Piotr Stepnowski, Rector of the UG and Chairman of the Assembly of the Fahrenheit Universities. CNU was represented by: Prof. Jeong-Kyoum Kim, President, Prof. Hyun Joo An, Vice-President for International Affairs and Prof. Dae Hoon Kwak, Director of the Office of the President.
On behalf of the Pomeranian universities, the meeting was also attended by: of the Medical University of Gdańsk – Prof. Anna Żaczek, Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Development, Prof. Michał Hoffman, Vice-Rector for Clinical Matters, Prof. Tomasz Bączek, the Rector’s representative for the “Excellence Initiative – Research University” Programme” and Olga Hofman, manager of the Department of the Excellence Initiative – Research University Programme Services”; on behalf of the Gdańsk University of Technology – Prof. Justyna Kucińska-Lipka, Associate Professor, Vice-Rector for Development, Prof. Christian Jungnickel, Associate Professor, the Rector’s representative for cooperation with research and teaching institutions in Asian countries, Prof. Juliusz Orlikowski, Deputy Dean for Cooperation and Development (the Faculty of Chemistry), Piotr Kaczmarek, Ph.D. Eng., Deputy Dean for Education and Teaching (Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunication and Informatics), Prof. Aleksandra Dorota Mielewczyk-Gryń, Associate Professor, Deputy Dean for Organisation (Faculty of Technical Physics and Applied Mathematics); of the University of Gdańsk – Prof. Anna Jurkowska-Zeidler, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, and Prof. Wiesław Laskowski, Vice Rector for Scientific Research; the Fahrenheit Universities was represented by Katarzyna Zygmunt, FarU’s Deputy Director.
The first part of the meeting concluded with the signing of cooperation agreements between the universities that form the Fahrenheit Universities and Chungnam National University. Then the guests were given a tour of the campuses of the MUG, GUT and UG.
